Highlights:

The IRI weekly forecast predicts total rainfall between 75-100 mm in Nuwara Eliya, Badulla and Kandy districts during 27th Feb - 4th Mar.
Between 20-26 Feb: up to 90 mm of rainfall was recorded in Matara district on the 26th.
From 11-17 Feb: minimum temperature of 15 ^OC was recorded from Nuwara Eliya district while Gampaha, Kurunegala and Colombo districts recorded a maximum temperature between 30-35 ^OC.
From 19-25 Feb: up to 18 km/h, northeasterly winds were experienced by the entire island.
0.5 ^OC below average sea surface temperature was observed in the northern seas of Sri Lanka.

The NCEP model predicts total rainfall between 25-35 mm in Kandy, Badulla, Nuwara Eliya, Colombo, Kalutara, Kegalle and Ratnapura districts during 20-26 Feb.
Between 12-18 Feb: up to 50 mm of rainfall was recorded in Kegalla and Ratnapura districts on the 15th.
From 11-17 Feb: minimum temperature of 15 ^OC was recorded from Nuwara Eliya district while Kurunegala district recorded a maximum temperature between 30-35 ^OC.
From 11-17 Feb: up to 20 km/h, northeasterly winds were experienced by the entire island.
Average sea surface temperature was observed in the northern seas of Sri Lanka.

From 4-10 Feb: minimum temperature of 15 ^OC was recorded from Nuwara Eliya district while most parts of the island recorded a maximum temperature between 30-35 ^OC.
From 6-12 Feb: up to 18 km/h, easterly winds were experienced by the entire island.
Average sea surface temperature was observed in the northern seas of Sri Lanka.

From 28 Jan-3 Feb: minimum temperature of 15 ^OC was recorded from Nuwara Eliya district while western and southern parts of the island recorded a maximum temperature between 30-35 ^OC.
From 30 Jan-5 Feb: up to 36 km/h, easterly winds were experienced by the southern regions of the island.
0.5 ^OC below average sea surface temperature was observed in the northern seas of Sri Lanka.

Between 24-30 Jan: up to 50 mm of rainfall was recorded in Nuwara Eliya on the 29th and in Badulla on the 30th.
From 21-27 Jan: minimum temperature of 15 ^OC was recorded from Nuwara Eliya district while western and southern parts of the island recorded a maximum temperature between 30-35 ^OC.
From 23-29 Jan: up to 18 km/h, northeasterly winds were experienced by the entire island.
0.5 ^OC below average sea surface temperature was observed in the northern seas of Sri Lanka.
