Highlights
Monitoring and Prediction
During the past week there was limited rainfall. Rainfall is forecasted upto toals of 50 mm for the week between 28th January to 3rd February – but the predictions are at a lower value than provided with two weeks lead in the last issue. Some rainfall can be further expected during 4th to 10th February. The February to April season has a high chances of being warmer than usual.

Monitoring and Prediction
More or less no rainfall was observed throughout the country during the past week. Only rainfall for the week was observed in south-western region on 17th January which was up to 10 mm. During the next week rainfall is predicted to be low but thereafter rainfall might increase significantly in central and eastern regions of the country.

Monitoring and Prediction
Less rainfall was observed throughout the country during the past week. Maximum rainfall for the week was observed in Mahiyangana area on 6th January which was up to 30mm. Rainfall is expected to increase during 16th to 27th of January.

Monitoring and Prediction
Less rainfall was observed throughout the country during the past week. Maximum rainfall for the week was observed in Badulla area on 31st December which was up to 30mm.During the next week rainfall is predicted to be lower than the previous weeks, but there shall be high rainfall in the eastern coast. Rainfall shall increase during 13th to 19th January for the most parts of the country.

Monitoring and Prediction
As predicted in the previous week eastern regions of Sri Lanka along with the adjacent sea received extremely heavy rainfall. On the 25th and 26th of December the entire country received rainfall reaching up to 200 mm. Thereafter a decrease in the rainfall was observed. During the next two weeks rainfall is predicted to be lower than the previous weeks, but there shall be high rainfall in the eastern coast.
